Description

Made famous by the BBC series Broadchurch, West Bay is a bustling coastal resort that includes a pretty harbour, shingle beach, and a good selection of eateries and shops. Heading inland will take you to the vibrant town of Bridport (1.5 miles), where you can seek out vintage treasures as well as your essential supplies. Ideally placed for walking on the South West Coast Path, this area is renowned for its striking coastline and the picturesque countryside that forms its backdrop. Lovers of watersports will find plenty to do here, including rowing, paddle boarding, and kayaking. Those wishing to enjoy a slower pace can take a boat trip from the harbour around the coast to Lyme Regis (7.5 miles).

Steps lead down from the parking area to the main entrance into this detached property. Once inside you are met with an entrance lobby and the kitchen, which is equipped with an electric oven and hob, American style fridge/freezer, microwave, and dishwasher. Just next door is the inviting open plan lounge/diner, which has stunning sea views, a TV, and a gas flame fire. Leading from here is a cosy nook ideal for settling down with a book or puzzle, or simply to admire the view. Heading further into the property you will find two bedrooms on the ground floor, a double and a twin. The bedrooms share a shower room with WC. Heading upstairs there are two further bedrooms, a double and a twin. There is a Jack and Jill bathroom on this level, with a bath, separate shower, and WC. Due to the setting within the eaves there are some areas of restricted head height on the first floor, which only adds to its charm.

Doors lead from the lounge/diner to a fabulous, raised deck that wraps around two sides of the property. There is furniture here or head down a level to a further seating area. In the adjacent outbuilding, you will find a useful utility room with a washing machine. To the front of the property is a private parking area suitable for four cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

West Bay

With the stunning golden glow of the majestic sandstone cliffs, West Bay is the" Golden Gateway" to the Jurassic Coast. West Bay offers some stunning landscapes to explore, with breathtaking views from its cliff tops. The village features in the Good Beach Guide as achieving the highest award for seawater quality. East Beach stretches as far as you can see along Chesil Beach to Portland Bill. West Beach is ideal for younger children as it has a protective cove and is sandy. In the summer, a lifeguard service watches over the waters of both beaches. The town, harbour, and beach were the location for the series Broadchurch which has made this previously hidden gem even more popular with visitors.
